²and also some women who had been healed of sicknesses and ·evil [defiling; ^Lunclean; 4:33] spirits: Mary, called Magdalene [^Cprobably because she was from the town of Magdala], from whom seven demons had gone out; ³Joanna, the wife of ·Cuza [or Chuza] (the ·manager [^Tsteward] of Herod’s [^CHerod Antipas; see 3:1] house); Susanna; and many others.
